National Hunt Racing

Champion jockey Richard Dunwoody is one of Britain’s most successful jockeys. He was at the forefront of English National Hunt racing in the 90s, winning the Big Three races - Grand National, The Championship Hurdle and Cheltenham Gold Cup.

When he hung up his racing silks at the age of 35 due to injury in 1999, he had won a record 1,699 winners and endured 672 falls. He is best known for his partnership with Desert Orchid on whom he won seven races and was awarded the MBE for sporting greatness.

Audiences learn about the driving ambition which led him to become a household favourite in racing circles at only 21 and the fear of failure which kept him to the fore for many years - earning him the title Champion of Champions.

Business lessons include:
• Controlling the Controllable
• Coping with Fear
• Breaking the Performance Barrier
• Learning from Mistakes
• Team Spirit
• Focus and Attitude

A racing pundit on the BBC, sports columnist, and public speaker, Richard Dunwoody is also involved in Arctic Exploration, charity marathons, motor racing and various other sports. He is currently planning his second North Pole expedition next year and television appearances.
