Michael Johnson is one of the greatest athletes ever. His place in history was destined when at the Atlanta Olympics in 1996 he won an unprecedented 200 and 400 metres sprint double. A feat that had never been achieved at Olympic level, let alone at the same championships.
During a glittering career Michael won 5 Olympic medals, and 9 World Championship Golds (never winning a Silver or Bronze). Michael still holds the World Record at 200 , 300 and 400 metres.

Michael was elected as World Athlete of the Year by the International Althletic Association in 1996 and 1999. |
